Sometimes called the Roof of Africa, the country of perennial spring, and the land of 13 months of sunshine, Ethiopia is known for its vibrant culture and traditions, along with an ancient history unique in the World.
The area of Ethiopia is 1,104,000 square kilometres, which is as big as France and Spain combined. With over 100 million inhabitants, Ethiopia is the second-most populated country in the Africa and the twelfth in the world.
More than 70% of Africa's mountains are found in Ethiopia. Its capital city, Addis Ababa, has an altitude of 2,355m (7,726ft), making it the 5th elevated capital city in the world. Ethiopia is the source of the Blue Nile – the longest river in the
world.
